Station Road Surgery

The Practice has been in existence for over seventy years and was originally based in Frimley Green, eventually moving to Station Road, Frimley, as the population expanded.

Dr Coulter joined the Practice in 1982 and became Senior Partner in 2002. Dr Ferguson, formerly our Retainer since 1993, became a half time partner in June 2000. Dr Bennett joined the practice in May 2002 and Dr Snell in August 2003. Additionally we have a part-time salaried doctor, Dr Thomas, who regularly holds four sessions per week in addition to helping out at times of increased pressure.

The General Practice Reforms in 1990 and the decision to become a Fundholding practice in 1993 put extreme pressures on the Surgery accommodation and 1994 saw considerable refurbishment and extensions to the premises. We are part of the Surrey Primary Care Trust.

As part of the restructure of the NHS, Station Road Surgery, along with nine other GP practices in Surrey Heath, have come together to form Surrey Heath Commissioning Group.  They are one of five emerging commissioning groups in Surrey and have an office in Surrey Heath Borough Council.

Travel Advice

We can offer vaccination and healthcare advice for anyone travelling abroad.  If you do need any special vaccinations or medical advice, you should be aware that some courses can take up to 4 weeks to complete.  We therefore advise you to complete the online travel questionnaire and send to the practice at least 6 weeks prior to travelling.  One of our practice nurses will then contact you to make an appointment.

Our experienced practice nurses have up-to-date information about the vaccination requirements for certain countries. We are also an approved Yellow Fever Centre.
